A commemorative ceremony was held in the Holy City of Qom to mark the first anniversary of the passing of the esteemed scholar, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Ali Husayni Shirazi (may Allah have mercy on him), the eldest son of the Grand Marja', Ayatollah al-Uzma Sayyid Sadiq Husayni Shirazi (may his shadow be prolonged).
The ceremony took place on the evening of Saturday, the 30th of Muharram 1447 AH (corresponding to July 20, 2025) at the residence of the religious authority in Qom. It was attended by a gathering of religious, cultural, and social figures, including representatives of prominent Maraji‘, professors and students of the seminaries, and groups of believers.
The late Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ali Husayni Shirazi (may Allah have mercy on him) passed away on Sunday, the 6th of Safar al-Ahzan last year, and following funeral processions in the holy cities of Qom, Najaf al-Ashraf, and Karbala, he was laid to rest in the precinct of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him) in the Holy City of Karbala.
